Here we have a vintage Illinois 1946 license plate made out of fiberboard and featuring the number 6950139. During the war, some states issued non-metal license plates to conserve metal resources. These fiberboard plates broke down very easily in the elements and were even sometimes munched by livestock. This plate would be a neat gift for someone who lives in Illinois, souvenir to remember a trip to the state, or even as decor to an Illinois lover. License plates also make great house warming gifts or gifts for someone who was born the year the plates were issued, and they look stellar on a wall in a collection with many different states and colors.
Condition:
This plate is in not-so-great vintage condition. It has been in a fire and shows some scorching. It comes with the original mailing envelope which also shows the same scorching. Not the prettiest plate, but still some good history here.

Measures about 11.5 inches long and 5.25 inches wide.
