Here we have a vintage 1939 Arizona license plate. It features the name Marcos De Nira on the bottom, who is credited as the first European to travel to the state and the year 1539 on the left, which is year he did it. This is the first optional slogan available on a license plate in the state. The "J" prefix denotes this plate as being registered to a vehicle in Navajo County. This plate is in good vintage condition, overall. However, it HAS been repainted (see detail photos # 2 and #3). It would be a neat gift for someone who lives in Arizona, souvenir to remember a trip to the state, or even as decor to an Arizona lover. License plates also make great house warming gifts or gifts for someone who was born the year the plates were issued, and they look stellar on a wall in a collection with many different states and colors. Measures 13 inches long. Like what you see? Visit our shop to view other Freshly Discovered Vintage & Antique Décor & Nostalgia here: EaglesEyeFinds.etsy.com
