Here we have a vintage 1914 New Jersey porcelain license plate. This plate is made of porcelain enamel, which is a thin layer of glass finish over steel. The plate features the number relatively low number of 5983 and a white on red coloring.
License plates make great house warming gifts or gifts for someone who was born the year the plates were issued, and they look stellar on a wall in a collection with many different states and colors. This plate would be a neat gift for someone who lives in New Jersey, souvenir to remember a trip to the state, or even as decor to a New Jersey lover.
Condition:
This plate is in 100% original condition, with no touchups or restoration. It is in good vintage condition, considering it is a piece of glass-covered metal that was used on an early vehicle in a time before paved roads. It does show a little wear and character from use and storage over the years. Most notably, dings and chipping near the badge, which is also missing a rivet.
