1950s If You Can Read This Too Damn Close License Plate Topper Car Auto Decor

This vintage "If You Can Read This You're Too Damn Close" license plate topper. This topper dates to the 1950s and promotes safe driving and driving with caution in a funny, tongue-in-cheek way. It features white reflective smaltz paint on a red background. The topper would look great in a collection of license plates or old auto toppers. It would be a neat piece to use as decor or even put it on your car again. It would also be a fun gag gift. 

Toppers like this are neat pieces of automobilia and would have been mounted to the top of license plates. Toppers were used to add some personalization to your car and were a predecessor of bumper stickers.

The topper is in 100% original condition, with no touch ups or restoration. It is in good vintage condition, showing a little wear from use over the years. Most notably, it has an extra hole at the top center and a couple blemishes here and there.
