Up for sale is a 1914 Alabama porcelain license plate. This plate features the number 3734 and black on white coloring. This plate would look great on in a license plate collection or on a wall as decor in a garage. Old Alabama plates in good quality are quite hard to find.

This plate is made of porcelain enamel, which is a thin layer of glass finish over steel. It was made by Baltimore Enamel and Novelty Co. out of Baltimore, Maryland, a well-known manufacturer of many states' porcelain license plates in the early years of cars, as well as many iconic advertising signs.

License plates make great house warming gifts or gifts for someone who was born the year the plates were issued, and they look stellar on a wall in a collection with many different states and colors. It would be a neat gift for someone who lives in Alabama, a souvenir to remember a trip to the state, or even as decor to a Alabama lover.

Size:

Measures about 12 inches long and 4.5 inches wide.

Condition:

The plate is in 100% original condition, with no touch ups or restoration. It is in good vintage condition, and does show some wear from use and storage over the years. Most notably, it has a couple chips around the mounting holes and slots as well as a larger chip along the right edge. There is also a little discoloration to the second "3" and some minor scratching here and there. This plate has some nice gloss to it (see last photo).
