Up for sale is a 1915 Alabama porcelain license plate. This plate features the number 12097 and white on green coloring. This plate would be an amazing addition to a porcelain license plate collection. Old Alabama plates in good quality are quite hard to find. This plate was a part of our personal collection, but we recently upgraded it and so am letting the downgrade go. It took us over 7 years to find one in better condition.

This plate is made of porcelain enamel, which is a thin layer of glass finish over steel. It was made by Baltimore Enamel and Novelty Co. out of Baltimore, Maryland, a well-known manufacturer of many states' porcelain license plates in the early years of cars, as well as many iconic advertising signs.

License plates make great house warming gifts or gifts for someone who was born the year the plates were issued, and they look stellar on a wall in a collection with many different states and colors. It would be a neat gift for someone who lives in Alabama, a souvenir to remember a trip to the state, or even as decor to a Alabama lover.

Size:

Measures about 12 inches long and 4.5 inches wide.

Condition:

The plate is in 100% original condition, with no touch ups or restoration. It is in great vintage condition, and only shows a little wear from use and storage over the years. Most notably, has a couple chips in the upper right corner and some very minor chipping along the bottom and left edges. This plate has some great gloss to it (see last two photos).
