Up for sale is a 1930s era California UCT porcelain license plate topper or badge. UCT was an early fraternal order for traveling salesmen called the United Commercial Travelers. It features the order's graphic logo of a sample case suspended by a crescent as well as yellow, white, and black porcelain. This badge would look great in a collection of California license plates, advertising, or old auto toppers.
Toppers like this are neat pieces of automobilia and would have been mounted to the top of license plates. Toppers were used to add some personalization to your car and were a predecessor of bumper stickers.
Condition:
The plate is in 100% original condition, with no touch ups or restoration. It is in wonderful vintage condition, and shows very minor wear and character from the years of use and storage. It has no chips or extra holes and is quite glossy.
