Here we have a vintage 1937 Tennessee license plate. This plate features the iconic state shape design, the number C-48-315, and black on yellow colors. Tennessee issued license plates in the shape of the state from 1936 through 1956, when in 1957 the Federal Government mandated standard rectangular plates for all states. The C prefix is a weight classification that means this was originally registered to a small passenger car. Tennessee shaped plates are highly collectable and look great as wall decor.

License plates make great house warming gifts or gifts for someone who was born the year the plates were issued, and they look stellar on a wall in a collection with many different states and colors. Condition:

The plate is in 100% original condition, with no touch ups or restoration. It is in wonderful vintage condition overall and shows only a little wear and character the years of use and storage. There is an extra dribble of black paint at the top center around the border, this is a manufacturing flaw.
