1941 1942 Delaware Porcelain License Plate Original Bracket Porcelain 20140

Up for sale is a 1941/1942 Delaware porcelain license plate. This plate features the number 20-140 and therefore was part of the first batches of plates to be made on this base. It also has a 3/31 month expiration tab, the original rubber grommets, and is still attached to the original mounting bracket from the car! This style of plate was used from 1941 through 1947 with year tabs, which were similar to the year stickers we use on plates today. This neat piece would look stellar in a license plate collection.

License plates make great house warming gifts or gifts for someone who was born the year the plates were issued, and they look stellar on a wall in a collection with many different states and colors. It would be a neat gift for someone who lives in Delaware, a souvenir to remember a trip to the state, or even as decor to a Delaware lover. 

Condition:

The plate is in 100% original condition, with no touch ups or restoration. It is in good vintage condition overall and does show some wear, character, and patina from the years of use and storage. Like many of the plates from this age, it is missing the registration year tab and the month tab has some heavy wear. There are some minor chips along the edges and some discoloration blemishes in the field. It is still a neat statement piece for any license plate collection.

Size:

Plate alone measures about 9.5 inches long and 5.5 inches wide. With the bracket, the entire piece measures about 10 inches long and 11.5 inches wide.
