Atomic Era Space Rocket Vintage Sled with Orbit Control by Viking Division

This atomic era space rocket sled is a mid-century kid's dream. The Space Rocket XS - 17 is from the 1950 - 1960 era and was manufactured by the Viking Division in Stoughton, Wisconsin. The sled's main feature is its "Orbit Control" which allows the rider to steer (to some degree) by moving the tracks. It has a great rocket design on its top while also sporting bright red paint. This unique piece would look great for any holiday or wintery display in your home, or maybe in a window of a shop somewhere. Can you imagine how much fun it would be to ride down a huge hill with one of these? As long as you don't hit a tree, it'd be a slippery joy ride!

Condition:

It is in good condition, with some scratches here and there as well as some wear on the feet as you can see in the photos. We have two of these pieces in about the same condition, however on one of the sleds, one of the "feet" is bent. The prices reflect this difference.

Size:

Measures about 25 inches wide, 54 inches long, and 6 inches tall.

 Shipping:

The shipping cost has the potential to be lowered (possibly as much as $100 or more depending on your location) if the buyer allows us to disassemble the sled. It is pretty simple to do so, it is only about 5 or so nuts and bolts, and reassembly should be simple as well. Detailed reassembly instructions will be included. The shipping price has been calculated for shipping the sled assembled to locations on the West Coast, as they are the farthest distance. If you live closer, your shipping may be significantly less.
