This vintage wooden crate has amazing rustic charm. It is made using nice box finger joints and is marked on the inside as being from Pettibone Mfg. Co. This company manufactured uniforms and regalia, including swords, for groups such as marching bands, military companies, schools, and secret societies. The company was based out of Cincinnati, Ohio. The company started in the 1870s and was at some point known as the Pettibone BROS. Mfg. Co. However, one of the brothers gets removed from the company information in the early 1900s. We therefore date this piece to the 1910s or early 1920s.

The wood crate would look stellar as decor with books or other knickknacks in it just about anywhere in the house.

Condition:

It is in good vintage condition, showing normal wear for its age throughout. All of the wood is solid and intact, though there is one crack on the bottom. Please note that all of the hardware is no longer attached, and some of it has been removed. We are unsure what caused someone to remove this hardware, but at least they kept it all with the box. This will be sent to you as well (see last photo). The hinges seem to also need to maybe be hammered in better too.

Size:

Measures about 18 inches long, 10.5 inches wide, and 11.5 inches tall.
